Alamo Sacristy

We developed an immersive media experience at the heart of Alamo site, a National Historic Landmark in San Antonio, where visitors are enveloped in a quiet and contemplate atmosphere. Through a minimalistic storytelling approach that incorporates media projection and an atmospheric soundscape, visitors are invited to take part in a journey through the rich history of the Alamo sacristy from the 18th century to the present day.

Experience Concept

Initial Media Storyboard

1. Pre-show

The looping visual and soundscape allows visitors to flow in and read graphic panels to learn about the history of the sacristy and frescoes.
2. Church Sacristy

The show begins by bringing natural light through the windows before slowly revealing the lavishly decorated frescoes within the room. The room continues to brighten, bringing out the fine details and vivid colors of the frescoes.
3. Battle of the Alamo

The sun goes down, and the room darkens dramatically. Flickering candlelight reveals silhouettes of women and children that might have hidden during the Battle of the Alamo.
4. Preservation and Conservation

The final scene shows the abandoned sacristy with its partially unearthed frescoes, matching the modern-day surroundings.
